Over sixty families visit Added Value’s Red Hook Community Farm every week to pick up their purchased share of the harvest, and some pay with sweat equity. This is unique amongst urban CSAs because the farm itself is in the city, so participants invest in their own community’s educational programming for children and adults, while improving their diet and shrinking their impact on the environment.
