Exploring Food Systems Photo Gallery Show at the Added Value Office May 7-June 7
This 20-print gallery show of photographs by teens is a provocative and eye-opening document of food systems in our Brooklyn neighborhoods. Exploring Food Systems is a joint project of Dreaming With Cameras, and Digital Horizons, a program of Added Value. In addition to their work at Red Hook Community Farm during the fall of 2007, 4 youth program participants explored different aspects of the food system and shot over 2000 photos, and chose the 20 photos for the gallery show.
If you missed the show at the Red Hook Initiative, and at Making Brooklyn Bloom, this is another chance to see the show. There will be hardcover and soft cover books available featuring the 20 photos from the show, and a transcript of Kimberly Vargas' keynote panel speech at Making Brooklyn Bloom (which featured the project and the photos themselves,) for sale at the Added Value office, starting May 7.
