The 2005 edition of Red Hook Horizons, Added Value's newsletter, is now available!
Produced by youth and staff as part of the Fall Youth Institute this edition of the newsletter represents another step forward in youth and staff documenting our work at Added Value, as we make our own media and connect communities in a healthy way. It is the result of a whole season of work with Digital Horizons for all the Institute participants. All youth were trained in desktop publishing and laid out the newsletter themselves. They sharpened their writing skills through many hours of writing (and many drafts!) Early in the fall, youth were trained in digital photography skills, and together we edited the photos for the newsletter from our catalog of hundreds of shots youth and staff had taken over the course of the year. This time we partnered with Hook Productions, doing some of our work in their computer center. want to thank Elizabeth De La Cruz, Senior Added Value and Digital Horizons Youth Leader, who took a leadership role as Editor.
