Digital Horizons Documents Sixth Annual Rooted In Community Conference in Olympia, Washington

The Digital Horizons team completed a successful project documenting the 6th Annual Rooted in Community Conference in Olympia, Washington on July 15-18, 2004. The conference brought together organizations from around the USA who work with youth and agriculture as a way to cultivate personal and social change.

Producing the daily newsletters was hard work but also really rewarding. Each day we used our photography and interviewing skills to gather content. Each night, we used our desktop publishing skills, working on computers back in our dorm rooms, and produced a newsletter for the day. The following morning we had the newsletter printed, and we distributed it to all the conference participants at lunch.

We hope that we successfully documented the conference and gave the participants something to take back to their communities to show everyone what the conference was all about. Thank you to the conference organizers for hosting us and for all your hard work on what was a truly inspiring conference, and for everything you did to help make our project a success. Check out our newsletters in the Links section to the right.
